SARGE Posted February 2, 2020 Share #1 Posted February 2, 2020 So how many of you have German games? Some of the most popular were board games with neat graphics on the box and board containing individual pieces that could be moved about on the board in an attempt to outwit the game and other players in order to win the contest. There were more board games than just Monopoly or Snakes and Ladders. Here are some German Traffic Safety games mirroring what the Police taught to students in elementary school. On the second game,"Der gute Schupo" notice the change in the graphics on the box lid. The first version shows a pre-1936 Schutzpolizei in his green uniform while the second version shows the post-1936 Policeman in his new nationalized white traffic officer tunic. All of you who had dealings with the Traffic Safety School Crossing guards know the rules of this game. Yep, I was one of those kids with the stop sign and a white vinyl cross belt and tin badge. Fred Borgmann Posted February 2, 2020 Share #2 Posted February 2, 2020 Neat !! Never saw any of these before! As young kids we played simple versions of the "fox and hens" with old coins on a hand drawn board and game that translates as "don't get mad" Link to comment
