Whole photo.

The top one should be an Anhalt one.
SARGE Posted July 11, 2024 #80 Posted July 11, 2024 A good photo of the Hausmutze with a cloth visor in wear on the right. Only the single cockade was usually worn on this cap.
patches Posted July 18, 2024 #81 Posted July 18, 2024 As he's a Prussian, a Lutheran Service right, though me being a Roman, I always thought the Lutheran Crosses did not have the Body of Christ on theirs.

patches Posted December 28, 2025 #94 Posted December 28, 2025 Kinda bizarre photo, we guess the vehicle broke down??? Have to move it away with a Horse??? Reichswehr unit unknown, got to be one of those embryonic phony panzer units though.
patches Posted February 2 #95 Posted February 2 Here's a find, the applying of the new NSDAP Eagle Decals and no doubt the new Tricolor Shield on the other side at the unit level, this being after April 1934, the date the new insignia is adopted and then is issued out. Unit here is the Prussian 7th Infantry Regiment, the troops are still wearing though the Weimar insignia caps with no breast eagle, the new ones come out after May 1934 for wear as per the Decree of February 17, 1934,which was effective from May 1, 1934.
landingbeach44 Posted February 4 #96 Posted February 4 any time you can find a complete ww1 helmet with its chin strap and liner is a great find. most of what i see is only the shell.
SARGE Posted February 18 #98 Posted February 18 In addition to the wearing of re-issued Model 1916 steel helmets notice the wear of rank stripes on the arm of the greatcoat.
patches Posted February 19 #99 Posted February 19 The young Hasso Von Manteuffell in full Regimental Regalia of 3rd Hussar Regiment, photo is taken in 1921 when he was in the Reichswehr, in the now titled 3rd Reiter Regiment, indeed the 2nd Squadron of the 3rd Reiter took lineal descent from Brandenburgisches Husaren-Regiment „von Zieten“ Nr. 3, the unit he was in for most of the war, so like the photo with the soldier wearing the Ulan Coat, perhaps this unit the 2nd Squadron wore the Hussar uninform for a bit into the Weimar era.
patches Posted 6 hours ago #100 Posted 6 hours ago The Tricolor Shield/ 17th Infantry Regiment, 17. (Preuß.-Braunschw.) Infanterie-Regiment/Infanterie-Regiment Braunschweig. Prior to the introduction of the Tricolor Shield ne would of been wearing the Brunswick Shield .
