Canada 7th infantry WWI 1914-15 STAR, insignia photos

This is from an NCO who served with the 7th Canadian Infantry Brigade in WWI. A group photo also shows him with the 2nd Draft 47th Battalion, Canadian Expeditionary Force June 14th, 1915. His name and unit are engraved on the back of the 1914-15 Star medal.

Just found this, showing him being promoted from Acting Sergeant Major to Acting Warrant Officer Class II in the Overseas Military Forces of Canada on May 21, 1920.

 

Does this mean he was still in Europe in 1920 - that would have made what, 5 years overseas?

Yup the ribbons are reversed, I see it all the time.

 

Looks like he was shot in the back of the neck...

How can you tell?

 

I switched the ribbons - it was easy top do, they'd never been sewn.

Today I took photos of the engraving on the edge of the the WAR MEDAL and VICTORY MEDAL. It has his SN, rank (in this case ACTING WARRANT OFFICER 2), name and unit:
