SARGE Posted April 20, 2020 Share #1 Posted April 20, 2020 Gents, Here is a Senior NCO uniform of the Bremen Landespolizei (LAPO) from 1967. The green color Summer-weight uniform cloth is typical of wartime and postwar German Police forces. The four button open collar cut is also typical of postwar German Police agencies. A good example of a circa 1960s German Barracked Police uniform.

SARGE Posted April 21, 2020 Author Share #3 Posted April 21, 2020 Thank you for the kudos. These postwar police tunics are sometimes confused with wartime tunics because of their color and general cut. However, open collar tunics like this are almost always postwar even if they have been re-badged with NS Zeit insignia. Collectors should always look for markings and labels to see when they were made, in this case 1967, as well as other tailoring clues such as lack of bayonet/sword slits in the left lower hip pocket or long pistol slits in the right lower hip pocket. I have seen many of these older postwar tunics fool collectors when they show up with NS Zeit insignia.
