This is another green colored cup. It has a nice enameled white chrysanthemum near the bottom and a thick gold leafed Japanese Army star at the top.

This is the inside of a larger sake cup in my collection.  The outer aspect is highly detailed and gold leafed and contains a shunga or pornographic theme that is pretty explicit!

This is another one of my favorite cups.  It is a larger size and has the horsemanship badge in the center.

This is a commemorative/presentation cup made from silver, with a gold wash over the mum in the center and various portions of the flags.

That is stunning! The cats meow as the old saying goes.

Thanks Jack.  You have to be careful if you are trying to polish this type of cup.  You can get the tarnish off of the silver, but you also run the risk of removing portions of the gold wash.  I learned that years ago, the hard way!

This is my one and only sake cup, my very meager contribution to this thread.  I use it as part of a display.  I do not know what the phrase on the banner is.

That's a nice looking cup Scarecrow.  The flag is beautiful and the colors of the cherry blossoms are terrific!

This is a kutani ware cup in its original cardboard box.  Many of the cups encountered from the WW2 era were manufactured by them.  Kutani ware supposedly dates back to around 1655.  The name kutani means "Nine Valleys"...

Thanks Rich.  I have others with some of the boxes being nicer than others.  Most of them look like this however.

Those are nice boxes Rich!  What is the pattern in the cup?

Rich- That's nice that you have a number of the same cups and in their boxes.

Here is a larger cup in my collection.  I liked it because of the contrast between the blue and gold chrysanthemum near the top and the green and gold paulonia leaf near the bottom.  The paulonia leaf is also used on the Order of the Rising Sun.

Here is a larger sake cup that I picked up.  It's fairly plain, just white, gold leaf, and a little red paint on the battle flag, but I liked the way the flags looked.
