Mururoa Pin

I'm not sure what this pin was made for.  I discovered that the South Pacific atoll Mururoa was used by France for nuclear weapons testing between 1966 and 1996, and that the French conducted 181 explosions here.

"AUGIS-LYON" is the mark on the back of this pin.

Hopefully somebody here might enlighten me.

It is the generic badge worn by all personnel of the Centre d'Expérimentation du Pacifique (Pacific Experimentation Center).

This includes the port authority indeed, but also the 1/185 Air Base Detachment and the Nuclear Experimentation Site personnel.
