MattS Posted April 27, 2020 Share #1 Posted April 27, 2020 While searching online for more information about the Imperial Japanese Army's uniforms and equipment, I came across this link that covers quite a lot for beginners like me trying to educate themselves. It was digitally transcribed (I'm guessing) and there are typos, but I found it informative. http://quanonline.com/book/chapter-11/uniforms.html I believe it came from the larger "Handbook on Japanese Military Forces" which can be read here: https://www.ibiblio.org/hyperwar/Japan/IJA/HB/
History Brick Posted July 1, 2020 Share #2 Posted July 1, 2020 Hello, I can see why this might be appealing to many collectors, as it’s a lot of info in one place, but I just wanted to know I wouldn’t rely too much on this. There are many errors, and they also do not provide any of the true Japanese military designations (M38 instead of Type 98 etc.), and this can be both confusing and annoying. shemp h. Posted July 3, 2020 Share #3 Posted July 3, 2020 I agree with History Brick, you can learn a LOT MORE from the forums than from most of the books published on Japanese militaria, these forums are a gold mine of knowledge on all militaria!
