Dirk Posted May 19, 2020 Share #1 Posted May 19, 2020 Some JG 27 items.....a flugbuch from a Bf-109 pilot , Fw Maraun who flew in Russia and had three kills, then to Africa where he flew numerous missions before being shot down by a Curtis. The pilot and another BF-109 had taken off to cover Stukas that were assembling for a raid when the Kittyhawks jumped them. The pilot force landed near el Daba. Maraun returned to the cockpit in 1944, but no longer flying fighters.
Dirk Posted May 19, 2020 Author Share #2 Posted May 19, 2020 A copy of the rare "Jagdgeschwader 27 in Afrika" book, a JG 27 period feldpost card, tropical breast eagle, and a collection of tropical Luftwaffe shoulder straps for flight and flak. The flak boards are sun faded....of course
warguy Posted May 19, 2020 Share #3 Posted May 19, 2020 Dirk, you are a man of many mysteries. From a fellow USMC/Luftwaffe collector, let me say what a wonderful little grouping this is. I have always appreciated the DAK LW material in particular. Thank you for sharing. Kevin
