Japanese museum ship models

This is a video I did with the nephew of the officier who brought these back to the US from occupied Japan. They are models of: Battleship IJN Fuso, Heavy Cruiser IJN Maya and Submarine IJN I55

 

These came from the Imperial Japanese Naval Academy at Etajima. They are crude, but interesting. The owner wanted it to maybe go back to Japan, but I checked, and Japan didn't want it.

Very cool. I think these ships are in rather good shape after at least 75 years. Thanks for sharing!

The IJNA at Etajima might now want them back, but they ARE part of their Naval history. Hold on to them. You never know when somebody might be interested in them.

I did not buy them and presumably they are still in their custom wood strorage crate in that guy's garage.
