SARGE Posted July 21, 2020 Share #1 Posted July 21, 2020 Gents, Here are a few examples of DDR subdued rank insignia. The enlisted shoulder boards are subdued instead of their bright colors and were worn on camouflage clothing. The woven shoulder boards are in subdued colors for a General Officer. Notice the correct five sided plastic pips on the General Officer boards instead of gilt metal pips. The subdued stripes on the cardstock were worn on the sleeve of camouflage, or white snow, clothing.

Proud Kraut Posted July 23, 2020 Share #3 Posted July 23, 2020 The grey pair is for Strafvollzug (correction) the light/dark green one is for Volkspolizei (police).
MattS Posted September 21, 2020 Share #4 Posted September 21, 2020 Are the grey 4-point pips later than the 5-point?
Proud Kraut Posted September 21, 2020 Share #5 Posted September 21, 2020 5-points pips are exclusively worn by generals. 4-points by all other ranks.
