One of the cooler aspects of collecting Rhodesian army items is their insignia. Here are some of my cloth insignia (outside of the RRR items I keep separate).

One of my favorite items are the various brigade patches. They came in embroidered and printed versions. I'm still missing a good "used" 3rd brigade printed version.

Most of these are army or Internal Affairs(a para military protection service looking after African farming areas).from the U.D.I. Period 1965 to 1980.

although not issued this is an original badge. Copies where made in SouthAfrica the difference is the backing material is reversed and looks flat, and the area at the wing tipis rounded unlike the above which are a sharp angle.

these are what’s called “garter tabs” worn under the fold on the Hose top,Stockings or socks.   Sometimes found sewn to a piece of elastic used to hold the hose top up. The Royal Rhodesian Regiment wore these next to the shin bone with an inch showing beneath the fold.

Here is a photo of my Rhodesian/ South African/ British collection. All related enough. I am skeptical about my wild geese patch though.

PJI brevet in the bottom left hand side is a fake.

Here is my collection of what I'm guessing are South African patches and badges.

Hope you like it.

2 Brigade, 3 Brigade, 4 Brigade and SF Brigade are all fakes. 1 Brigade patch maybe as well but I would have to see a closer photo of it.

They were never issued because APJI's didn't exist in Rhodesia.

Top middle is not Rhodesian. The army never had mess dress wings. A few officers wore on the Greens or on mess dress a British bullion wing but it was unofficial and high ranking officers I guess could do what they wanted. However very few of them did it.

Bottom left hand corner is not Rhodesian.
