Unknown Canadian or British Badge

Good Morning, I'm new to this forum, but have been on the USMF for a few years. I just had a few foreign (possible) military items I've been trying to ID and thought I'd give this a try

For sure different but this insignia with crown and Maltese cross reminds me somehow of the British King´s Own Malta Regiment or Border Regiment hat insignia. I´m probably totally wrong...

Thanks for your input. I'm searching based off your recommendations. It certainly does look very similar in design to the Badges from the King's Own Malta Regiment.
