easterneagle87 Posted October 2, 2020 Share #1 Posted October 2, 2020 I see this buckle post for sale, and want to get some opinions. I'm a fan of the Philippine carved buckles, but this one isn't done in the same format. More square than rectangle. Is it a "war" piece, made chinese made? or post war. OR ... is it even a buckle? What cha think?
St.Lukas Posted October 3, 2020 Share #2 Posted October 3, 2020 Maybe an unfinished buckle or a money clip or ? It’s neat though
bryang Posted October 4, 2020 Share #3 Posted October 4, 2020 Wouldn't the owner's name be done in Japanese script?

The Japnese will use "romanji" or Roman / English lettering for decorative purposes, or if they working around Westerners.

Fortunes Of War Posted May 31, 2021 Share #7 Posted May 31, 2021 I would agree with St. Lukas, it looks like it may have been a money clip.
