irish Posted October 13, 2020 Share #1 Posted October 13, 2020 After seeing some of the great Rhodesian collections posted here recently I was motivated to dig out my small collection. Many of the items I had purchased from an ex RLI member. these items are from the Royal Rhodesian Regiment except the brassard which was worn by British Troops during the transition of governments late in the war. there is a a more specific name for this group but it escapes me at the moment. The Unit flag is for 4th(Manicaland) Battalion Royal Rhodesia Regiment.due to its size I’d say its a Storm Flag flown in place of a large flag in bad weather. 4 Bn. Was based in Umtali (now Mutare in Zimbabwe) and was honoured with Freedom of the city in 1965 and wore a feather hackle in white and blue (the colours of the city)behind the cap badge.
