Kia kaha Posted October 17, 2020 Share #1 Posted October 17, 2020 Parachute wing issued to me in 1981. After completing the course I went to the units Q store and signed out all the wings the store had, a total of two wings! One I gave to a fellow course member the other I glued a safety pin to the back so I could have a wing for every uniform. Later I went to a militaria dealer and bought Some British copy wings to wear.

Tonomachi Posted October 18, 2020 Share #10 Posted October 18, 2020 Nice collection and thanks for sharing these photographs of the different variants of New Zealand paratrooper wings. Here is what I have in my collection which I guess are now obsolete New Zealand paratrooper wings and a pair of New Zealand SAS paratrooper wings. triplecanopy Posted October 4, 2022 Share #18 Posted October 4, 2022 Here are a few of the New Zealand Parachute wings I picked up in 1977 while I was there. The US unit I was in at the time was working with the NZ Army at Waiouru Military Camp on the North Island. When I got a two day pass, I took the opportunity to visit at Papakura where the NZ SAS was located. I managed to pick up a few wings and badges there. Had a great time and before departing I was presented the plaque as shown below. It was a great trip, fantastic people and wonderful country. I would love to go back one day.
