used by a S.A.S. Guy, this helmet seems to be a Chinese G 70 but in steel slightly different shape to the G80.  I’ve seen two of these helmets in Zimbabwe owned by ex Rhodesian soldiers with no connection to the Zimbabwe National Army.so it seems they were in use before 1980.

These helmets all seem to come from Rhodesian S.A.S. Sources, here’s one from

The brown jobs (army) didn’t want bullet holes in ther stores,The blue jobs (airforce) didn’t want brain matter on the outside of their aircraft, solution — jump with helmet and take off for combat!

A number of these helmets were captured during a cross border raid, shipped back to Rhodesia with tons of ammo, weapons, documents and other useful stuff. The Rhodesian S.A.S. Converted these to be used as a para helmet that could be used in combat and when blowing bridges and buildings etc. These are/where Albanian Army helmets (Chinese made and supplied to Albania during the 70s)
