Otter42 Posted December 25, 2020 #1 Posted December 25, 2020 Would someone translate the writing on the tag attached to belt? Has writing front and back. Thanks Ken
Eric Queen Posted December 25, 2020 #2 Posted December 25, 2020 The mans name was Miyasaka 宮坂 (surname) Yoshitaka 芳孝 (given name) The other side is a patriotic slogan Zanchuuhoukoku 盡忠報国 Upmost Loyalty to Country
Otter42 Posted December 25, 2020 Author #4 Posted December 25, 2020 Is this an enlisted or officers belt?
Otter42 Posted December 26, 2020 Author #5 Posted December 26, 2020 Found an old auction for items listed with this man's same name. Unfortunately I can't view the details. Anyone else able to open the details? Thanks for any help. https://www.liveauctioneers.com/item/55868578_3-senninbari-with-photographs

Ken There were many different types of wide belts worn by officers but what I can see from your one photo I would say no.Here are a few of my belts, the one on top is for an NCO the two bottom belts are for officer, you'll notice the set up for a sword and loops for map case, etc. Bill
shemp h. Posted December 29, 2020 #13 Posted December 29, 2020 Ken I forgot to mention that the six sided hexagon on the bottom belt to to right, is a leather pocket that would probably contain the officers dog tag. Happy New Year Bill
Otter42 Posted December 29, 2020 Author #14 Posted December 29, 2020 Bill, Thank you very much for all your help. Happy new Year Pray it's better than 2020. Ken
