Well composed and finished images, they must have occupied a place of pride for a number of families. The majority appear to be guard units from Prussia, Saxony, and Hesse. If you don´t mind I´m adding a portrait that member Illiniworld forwarded to post it here. It shows one of his German relatives who was born in 1870. I believe he was an uhlan officer.
