Some Imperial Portraits

Here are some Imperial Studio portraits that have “fallen” into my collection over the past few years. Well composed and finished images, they must have occupied a place of pride for a number of families. The majority appear to be guard units from Prussia, Saxony, and Hesse.

These are some terrific portraits, Dirk.

If you don´t mind I´m adding a portrait that member Illiniworld forwarded to post it here. It shows one of his German relatives who was born in 1870. I believe he was an uhlan officer. Please correct me if I´m wrong. Any other info would be highly appreciated.

Thanks guys....I really like the work that these German portrait photographers did. They clearly knew their craft well.
