RAB Posted January 2, 2021 Share #1 Posted January 2, 2021 Hi all, a friend has this unknown uniform we are trying to ID, I thought the patch might be something Thai but I dont know, uniform is cut like a US VN era Jungle jacket. Kia kaha Posted January 3, 2021 Share #2 Posted January 3, 2021 Hi RAB these were around during the 80s, Many kiwi soldiers used to go up to Bangkok from Singapore for some “not much rest and lots of recreation” and learn about the culture ! A lot of us bought these U.S.style BDUs to use as field kit as New Zealand didn’t have lightweight camo until 1985. These were Thai Police I believe. We also got the Tiger Stripe, the Black fatigues and the olive green jungle fatigues. Im afraid I don’t recognise the patch. cheers Tony

M60Driver Posted May 3, 2021 Share #5 Posted May 3, 2021 Reading the Thai, it is a patch for the Taksin military base in Chantaburi southeast of Bangkok. I think it is a Royal Thai Marine patch as they are the Thai units that often have red patches.
