Scarecrow Posted March 27, 2021 Share #1 Posted March 27, 2021 I picked this tinware pot up in a local thrift store. Has that military look to me. I pretty sure, if military, that its not US but thought that it might be from another country's military. Any ID information would be appreciated. Thanks. Scarecrow Posted January 24, 2022 Author Share #2 Posted January 24, 2022 Thought I'd give this a one time bump to see if anyone can id. Thanks.
Rakkasan187 Posted January 24, 2022 Share #3 Posted January 24, 2022 Paul, This looks similar to the US Army mountain cook set with the collapsible wire handles, but the Army cook sets did not have any handles on the pot lids like this one does. I also thought there was a slight possibility of this being part of the Civilian Conservation Corps mess gear but looking at some CCC images they were using (for the most) part mess kits and canteen cups that were Army surplus. Maybe this is just a civilian camping cooking pot.. or an early Boy Scout mess kit pot? Just some thoughts and some different routes to look at.. Best regards, stay safe Leigh
Scarecrow Posted January 25, 2022 Author Share #4 Posted January 25, 2022 Leigh, Thanks very much for your input. I thought that it might be civilian but again it had that military look to me. That is why I thought I would ask. Thanks again! Paul
