Can anyone ID this hat.  It was included in a lot of US items but it is Definitely not US maybe a souvenir from somewhere. Label has been removed. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Okay, although I haven´t seen this hat/insignia combination before, I´ll give it a try. Looks to me like a Wehrmacht Feldmuetz M43 (can´t say if real or repro) with (Schirmmuetze) visor cap wreath and Bavarian cockade. As I said, I haven´t seen this combination before. In any case I would say: German.

I don't think it's German...WWII era M-43's did not have sweat shield or full leather liner. Do not know of any German caps this style wartime or postwar with false front flaps. Buttons are not German as well. Wreath and cockcade appear to be separate pieces suggesting put together.

You made some good points, GI Goo! The longer I´m regarding the pictures the more I do believe that this is some kind of heavily modified Feldmuetze for private use. I grew up in the countryside. Even in the 1960´s and 70´s these hats were worn by many people, mostly farmers, workers etc. Of course they did not use to wear it with insignia. But hunters or foresters e.g. did. The leather liner reminds me of the Gebirgsjaeger Bergmuetzen. Makes sence with the Bavarian cockade connection. Would love to see if inner  side of the liner shows some signs of wear.

Insignia and the diamond shape of the (removed) label still make me believe that it´s (partly) German.

However, I´m probably wrong and it´s something total different.

A very intriguing cap...if it wasn't for the sweat diamond I would deem this one a repro. Many other countries copied this design. The bergmutze has a somewhat different look to it
