About ten years ago I was offered a Kimono sample book that was all Russo-Japanese war themes. To this day I regret not buying it. The closest thing I could describe it to was a Tattoo artists flash book. It was amazing.

Fortunes Of War

Bob-

You could do an entire book yourself based upon the examples in your collection!

This pattern shows Japanese Naval Landing Forces coming ashore!  See close up images of the pattern...

Mike- Maybe half way done shooting them. Then I will get to the adult ones.

I love the above NLF kimono.

Fortunes Of War

Here is another one with airplanes, ships and artillery pieces.  There are also some celebratory lanterns.

Fortunes Of War

This example has a soldier's pack, helmet, cargo chute, and what looks like a glider.

Fortunes Of War

Bob-

I really liked the colors of the illustrations in your #36 post; the field artillery piece, diving airplane and attacking tanks are cool!  Images of these tanks (your #36, 37, and 38) were dancing in my head as I headed off to Micronesia to dive Truk Lagoon a couple of years ago.  One of the thrills of my visit was to dive on a wreck and stand on the turret of one of these tanks, still strapped to the deck of the ship that was transporting it when it was sunk!  Thank you for showing these; it's reignited my interest in Japanese patriotic clothing.
