GCCE1854 Posted June 13, 2021 Share #1 Posted June 13, 2021 Most of my research lately has been 19th-century British military, though answers about other eras would be interesting as well. I'm wondering what type of jewelry or personal items (like a pocket watch) were allowed (or not) to be worn by the men when in uniform. A number of the gents I'm working on in the Crimean era and decades after are always shown with their pocket watches/watch chains in regular photos. Would they have worn a watch when in uniform? Or a ring? If so, were there rules about how/when they could be worn? Link to comment
