Otter42 Posted June 18, 2021 Share #1 Posted June 18, 2021 Just traded for this today. I know very little about Japanese collecting, I just started picking some things up. Is the orange underneath a primer? What model is this one? Name is gone, but there is black writing inside the top. Collector friend said this was picked up on Guam. Any comments are welcome, thanks, Ken
Fortunes Of War Posted June 19, 2021 Share #2 Posted June 19, 2021 Primer was normally a black color.
Otter42 Posted June 19, 2021 Author Share #3 Posted June 19, 2021 Do you think it's okay, or a fake?
Fortunes Of War Posted June 19, 2021 Share #4 Posted June 19, 2021 Hi Otter42- It's definitely a good looking Type 90 helmet shell. It looks like it took a concussion hit that cracked it. It still appears to have one liner/chinstrap ring inside it, as well as the star. It honestly looks like a dug relic to me.
Otter42 Posted June 19, 2021 Author Share #5 Posted June 19, 2021 Yes, it does have the appearance of having been out in the weather or buried for a long time. Thanks for your honest assessment. Ken
