Hello

I start this post who will be dedicated to the belgian " para-commando " regiment

 

I begin with this lighter

 

lighter of the 3bn parachutist, the lighter come from the PX of the Kamina base ( belgian congo ) and was engraved with the 3 bn parachutist emblem, ths lighter is from before 1960 when Belgium loses the congo

a crest of the 4th commando

 

crest in copper and painted

 

the 4th commando was created in the 1959 and dissolved in 1962, created with officer and man of the 2 bn commando

the 4th commando was created and only used in belgian Congo for peacemaker mission with the events of the congo independance 

the 4th commando was based in Kitona  to april 1960 and the 4th commando was based in Ruanda-Urundi

 

in the 70's, the 4th commando is reactived and becomes a reserve commando unit

two chaplain uniform, I recieve them from the padre Michel Quertemont, he was Chaplain of the 2 bn commando , in duty in the 90's and 2000's

I have the all desert uniform of the Lt Jacobs from the 1st bn parachutist

this desert uniform was worn in afghanistan when he was in duty

picture of the jacket/shirt

 

and  desert jacket / shirt of  Willems of the 2bn commando  ( no more information ) when he was on duty in Liban for the mission BELUFIL 10 2009-2010

it have it with some others things; come from the familly

a wimpel of the 2nd bn commando, 16th company

 

this wimpel was made in rwanda ( local made ) in 1994 by the 16th company, a little before the massacre of 10 belgian commando

I recieve the wimpel from a friend who was in the 2nd bn commando  in Rwanda

on left ; local made in kosovo during operation  BELUKROKO 11

on right : local made in afghanistan , 25 man detached at the Kabul Multinational Brigade

This beret I got from Johnathan Pittaway, SAS Rhodesia, in 2005. When he was selling items to write his book. It is ABL Cofabeba marked and dated 1966. The pin appears to be unmarked, I have not removed as it only has thin wire pins that are crossed over and are underneath the square protector pad on the inside. It has been sitting on my beret display for years and figure I would share and welcome any comments and information.
