Mark K Posted October 30, 2021 Share #2 Posted October 30, 2021 Kia kaha what you have here is a is a Gueneau type 202 second model ( anti collision fairing F1 ) production 1'st began on the second model in 1975 they are a little larger and heavier than there predecessor the type 1 which weighed in at between ( 345-400 grams ) as opposed to the type 2 which weighs in at between ( 500-600 grams ) dependent on the size they were designed to fit a head size from 52 to 63 cm.. They were intended for training for airborne troops the second model consists of a shell moulded in fiberglass and resin which was an improvement over the 202 type 1 which were constructed of cork your particular example would date to 1978 and or later we can determine this as there are two extra air ventilation grommets added to the front of the helmet body.. You have a rather nice not often seen high vis example they are known as the Mle F1 anti-collision fairing these were specially made for chute and drop monitors there is no physical difference between this type 202 and the army green helmet of the 2nd model with the exception of the outer covering which has been done in a red orange canvas..
