LE LOUP DES MERS

Hey guys check out my original ppsh-41 it's dated 1943, all matching numbers and the barrel is even marked very rare. It has no import stamp which leads me to believe it was a vet bring back. I only have one drum mag shown but I have a total of three.

LE LOUP DES MERS

Yeah no problem, I can't believe how heavy the thing is even without a fully loaded drum mag,  now I understand why soviets loved vodka lol.

What was the rate of fire?

Here is an article that describes the use of this Machine-Pistol in a ground-attack airplane--named the Fire Hedgehog.   This article says it fired a  7.62x25mm cartridge at a rate of fire of 900 rd/min. I didn't know this infantry weapon could fire that fast.

The Russian used a TU-2 and mounted 88 PPSH-41 guns on a rack that was lifted into the belly of the bomber.  It was arranged to fire downward at an angle.  Each of the mounted submachine guns had only a 71-round drum magazine, which allowed just over 4 seconds of fire.  Flying low at 250mph, it could fire 6,000 rounds to cover a space of about 1800 feet long and about 4 feet wide.

Link to War History OnLine article:   Yes the Tu-2 ‘hedgehog’ could fire 79,200 rounds per minute
