Linking your WMF Account to your USMF Account

Recommended Posts

Don't want the hassle of having to sign in separately to your WMF and USMF accounts? No problem! We have a great feature that allows you to link your WMF account to your USMF account so that you can use the same log-in username and password to easily move between forums and post your US and Non-US discussions!

BEFORE YOU START - The emails on both your USMF and WMF accounts must match! Before you can link, make sure and edit your account emails to be the same, if they are not already!

HOW TO LINK YOUR ACCOUNTS:

Go to WMF, and click your username in the top right corner. A drop-down menu appears - Click "Account Settings":

At the bottom of the list in your "Account Settings", you'll see a "USMF - Not Connected". Click the "Configure" button on the right of that line:

Once you click that "Configure" button, you will be prompted to enter your sign-in username and password. This is where you enter your USMF username and password, not your WMF log-in info. So, that means if your WMF username is different than your USMF username, you must enter your USMF username. The emails must be the same on your USMF account and your WMF account! Once you enter the info, click "Sign In".

Once you click the "Sign In" button, you will be shown your USMF avatar and username, and a few personal account options. Click "Update Preferences" when you are done:

Now, if you click "Overview" in the left-hand column, you'll return to the original screen, and it will now say "USMF - Signed in as . . . ". At anytime, you may click the "Configure" button and choose to sign out so that your accounts are no longer linked.

After this is completed, you can now use your USMF sign-in to log in to WMF. If your username is different on each forum, you can just sign in with your USMF username, and it will automatically log you in as your WMF name!

Now, it will be very easy for USMF members to post any non-US discussions as well as not having to juggle another account sign-in password! :)
