Black, green and bordeaux colored berets were introduced by the Bundeswehr for armor, light infantry and airborne units in the late 1960´s. In 1978 berets were introduced for all army branches. E.g. combat support and logistical branches´soldiers are wearing red berets since then.

I´ll start this topic with a couple of artillery insignia that can be found in use today:

1. official issued metal insignia

2. Bullion, Kleiderkasse (1980´s)
3. Bullion, Bundeswehr Bekleidungsmanagement (former Kleiderkasse) current

4. Woven, other private purchase

Please add pictures of your Bw beret insignia here

From 1969 until 1978 the existing beret insignia (light infantry, armor, airborne) were produced and issued without national colors (left armor insignia). When beret insignia for all branches were introduced in the late 1970´s these were cancelled. Since then all beret insignia are issued with the national flag at the bottom center of the wreath (right one).
