Mark K Posted October 29, 2021 Share #1 Posted October 29, 2021 Helmet Combat fiberglass production 1st started on these helmets in 1974 they were produced by Polyfib whom was one of the largest manufacturer and suppliers to the Government of India ( Ministry Of Defence )... The helmet is constructed by applying multiple compositions of Fiberglass Roving with a heat cured resin giving the helmet ballistic resistant qualities the manufacture claims they are bullet proof.. They were field tested for ballistic properties at a distance of 4.6 meters and with stood penetration of the inner fibre layering with a 9 mm semi automatic with ( SA ball 9 mm low power ammunition ) and with a Pistol Revolver Mk II with ( SA ball 380" ammunition )..
