Helmet Combat fiberglass production 1st started on these helmets in 1974 they were produced by Polyfib whom was one of the largest manufacturer and suppliers to the Government of India ( Ministry Of Defence )...

The helmet is constructed by applying multiple compositions of Fiberglass Roving with a heat cured resin giving the helmet ballistic resistant qualities the manufacture claims they are bullet proof..

They were field tested for ballistic properties at a distance of 4.6 meters and with stood penetration of the inner fibre layering with a 9 mm semi automatic with ( SA ball 9 mm low power ammunition ) and with a Pistol Revolver Mk II with ( SA ball 380" ammunition )..
