Pudgy (V) Posted November 4, 2021 Share #1 Posted November 4, 2021 I was thinking of selling this M35 Luftwaffe helmet. It appears to have been a double decal at one time, not sure if the national colors were painted over or removed during a refurbishment. It looks to be named, and there is writing on both sides of the liner. The liner and chinstrap are both delicate, and the chinstrap appears to have been fixed. Can you give me a ballpark price and if anyone is interested please let me know. Thanks!
Pudgy (V) Posted November 8, 2021 Author Share #2 Posted November 8, 2021 Thought I would try again since I didn't get a response. Thanks!!
Tom Kibler Posted November 9, 2021 Share #3 Posted November 9, 2021 Nice helmet. I recently picked an M40 with a “Flg” squadron inked in the liner too.
Pudgy (V) Posted November 9, 2021 Author Share #4 Posted November 9, 2021 I had no idea that is what it meant. I don't really collect German stuff. That is pretty cool!! There are some other markings in it, I should make more of an effort to read them. I know there are some numbers.

Flg is the abbreviation for Flieger, a Private in the Luftwaffe Flying unit, a say mechanic, an munitions/ordnance specialist etc a clerk etc, so the other word will be a last name. Flieger, a catch all rank for the majority of Luftwaffe units that were flying, but there were others, if he was in a Flak unit, these guys, these Privates, are called Kannonier, in a Parachute unit, Jäger, in an Engineer unit, Pionier etc,
