patches Posted November 10, 2021 Share #1 Posted November 10, 2021 They appear to be wearing Italian Camo pants, but the tops are SS Camo, but in a design that's unfamiliar, we see pockets, buttoned all the way down on the one on the right, who has slanted povckets? he also seems to have those Foliage Loops on the arms of the type seen on the mid-late war smocks???? SARGE Posted November 12, 2021 Share #2 Posted November 12, 2021 Since the tops appear to button down to the groin they almost look like paratroop smocks?

SARGE Posted November 13, 2021 Share #4 Posted November 13, 2021 OK... here may be your answer from Beaver & Borsarello, "Camouflage Uniforms of the Waffem-SS" ISBN: 0-88740-803-6. This large volume shows W-SS Patratoops uniforms in Chapter 8. These were made in Luftwaffe splinter pattern camo as well as W-SS palm and dot patterns according to the authors. Period photos in the book show these in wear. Your guy on the right has the typical jump smock angled breast pockets while the guy on the left has straight cut pocket flaps. Some of these W-SS jump smocks had sleeve eagles and some breast eagles but many had no insignia at all it seems. Most probably field tailor altered since the pants look like Italian camo pattern. Could the pants on the left be washed out Luftwaffe splinter? I would say you have a rare photograph.

Thanks for the info SARGE, very intriguing, the photo was an online fined, was searching for photos where Italian Camo items are worn, and this was a redirect, so we gather the pants are Italian, don't think there was anything more on it, Will have to look again to find it to see if there was more. patches Posted November 14, 2021 Author Share #6 Posted November 14, 2021 Found it, it was on Pintrest, Caption just says. Soldiers from 12. SS-Panzer-Division Hitlerjugend. Their dresses look sort of home made, trousers in Italian camo pattern.
