Militaria of the Past

One of my favorite German pieces I’ve ever owned and wish I still had. Stalingrad cross on a medical shoulder board.
The Stalingrad cross, which was designed for a unit that was raised in 1943 to commemorate the 44th infantry division, which was wiped out at Stalingrad.

A De-Nazified version of the Stalingrad Cross is used today in the Austrian Army.

For  Jägerbataillon Wien 1 "Hoch- und Deutschmeister" which is a territorial unit, which is like our reserves and or national guard. Odd that there wouldn't be a lineal descendent of this ancient regiment in the Standing Army right, but rather in the Reserves.
