us82bravo Posted December 22, 2021 #1 Posted December 22, 2021 While sorting some stuff, I came across this cuff title. I've had it for a while. It came in a group of miscellaneous militaria I got from a "picker". He had no information on any of the items. I'm not a Reich collector so I took this to two people in my area who are "TR" collectors. One said he thought it was a reproduction, the other wasn't sure but "would take a chance on it for XXX dollars". I had searched the internet for similar items and had found several variations of this title and the related values. The $xxx offer was considerably less than values found. The title piece is approximately 14 3/4" long, 1 1/16" wide. Difficult to see in the last photo is an additional piece of fabric (of a different weave) covering the lettered area denoted by the single silver thread. I have my own opinion on this piece but would appreciate any comments you may have. Thanks for looking. Larry
earlymb Posted December 22, 2021 #2 Posted December 22, 2021 I would also post it on the War Relics forum, they have a few specialists in these kind of things.
Tom Kibler Posted December 28, 2021 #3 Posted December 28, 2021 That looks like a killer flat wire to me! Very nice too.... Salty, yet seasoned. Sweet!!
John4022 Posted December 28, 2021 #4 Posted December 28, 2021 Wow, what a original beauty! Yes the $XXX offer is too low!!! Definitely a scarce cufftitle.
us82bravo Posted December 28, 2021 Author #5 Posted December 28, 2021 Gentlemen: Thank you for your responses. They are appreciated. I felt that this title was an original 'tunic removed' flat wire form 2 piece based on my limited research on the internet. I know that there is nothing like having it in hand to recognized reproductions from originals, but I had nothing available for comparison. Again, thank you for your comments. Larry
Milihfra Posted May 30, 2022 #7 Posted May 30, 2022 Very nice cuff, I missed my chance at a really nice flatwire one like this a few years back so lucky you! Much harder to find then the Bevo version.
