A little later there was a Pattern 41, these were exactly the same but with the addition of an ankle strap. This strap was added because the P40's tended to come off your feet when bailing out of an aircraft. The addition of the strap on the P41's was supposed to alleviate the problem. In case you are unaware the "AM" on the zipper pulls are not manufacturer's marks but in fact stand for "Air Ministry". Very nice looking boots BTW. Quite often when found now a days. the "rubberized sides just above the soles, have deteriorated. Yours seem to have not. Thanks for showing. Link to comment
