I think the jacket is WWII vintage, but not sure.  It is stamped Andre Marseille.   The buttons are navy, and made by T. W. & W. Paris.

Please help me with the origin of this jacket.

Thank you #6. I knew that the patch was the Cross of Lorraine, but not that it was used by the French 2nd Armoured Division. The buttons are clearly navy.

Can you fill me in on the red chevron ?

It's a French rank chevron I think, not my strong point though. I have seen green French Army jackets of the same cut, if that helps.
