Proud Kraut Posted May 22, 2022 Share #4 Posted May 22, 2022 Clearly visible the Hauptfeldwebel ("Spiess") stripes on the cuffs of his uniform. Landser´s nickname of these stripes: "Kolbenringe" (piston rings). Second button from above is missing or still unbuttoned. Spiesse used to carry their service-book between the first and third button of the uniform.
patches Posted August 1, 2022 Author Share #5 Posted August 1, 2022 A correction on the unit of these POWs, they will be as it turns out not from the 10th Panzer division , but from the 47th Grenadier Regiment detached from the 22nd Air Landing Division on Crete and sent to Tunisia, the 22nd Air Landing Division indeed fought in the Crimea in 41-42. Grenadier-Regiment 47 Entstanden am 15. Oktober 1942 durch die Umbenennung des Infanterie-Regiments 47 und der 22. Infanterie- (LL) Division unterstellt.
