patches Posted May 4, 2022 Author Share #3 Posted May 4, 2022 What I always found astonishing is that during the course of the Campaign in North Africa, to in include the final actions in Tunisia, that both the Germans and the Italians were able to send their prisoners back to Europe, bearing in mind that the whole time the Allies enjoyed both Air and Sea superiority, and constantly subjected the Axis' shipping and air transport to an onslaught both coming and going to Africa. Brian Keith Posted May 7, 2022 Share #4 Posted May 7, 2022 I would think that ships steaming to a combat zone are fully loaded with supplies for the combat troops, coming back from the combat zone, not so full, generally only bringing the badly wounded. US brought POW's from North Africa to the US. A lot of them worked on farms. Neat photo! BKW
