The flag oath "Ich schwöre bei Gott diesen heiligen Eid, dass ich dem Führer des Deutschen Reiches und Volkes, Adolf Hitler, dem Oberbefehlshaber der Wehrmacht, unbedingten Gehorsam leisten und als tapferer Soldat bereit sein will, jederzeit für diesen Eid mein Leben einzusetzen."

'I swear to God this sacred oath that I will give unconditional obedience to the leader of the German Reich and People, Adolf Hitler, the Commander-in-Chief of the Wehrmacht, and as a brave soldier I will be ready to risk my life for this oath at any time', there was a slightly different version for the RAD, I have misplaced my file, when found I will update the information

Very interesting photos. If I would have had to swear an oath personally, by name, to the US President each time I enlisted or reenlisted, I may not have stayed for 31 years. I suspect, before May of 1945, most of these men would have been carrying rifles instead of shovels.
