I think they wore the collar tabs for a few years until 1947 or so when they switched to US style insignia (branch on collar and rank on shoulder). They kept that uniform design until the very early 1950s and switched to a HBT cloth version which lasted until the late 50s/early 60s. After they use the green US Class A and still use it today.
