Salty field cap

This cap was in a box with other souvenirs of a Sergeant in the AAF who was on Okinawa from early November 1945 to mid-1946, along with a small Japanese equipment tag (?), an armband, 3 meatball and 1 rayed flag, currency etc...note the star is an individually cut and sewn piece i.e. no backing.  The liner is in good shape considering, but the stamp is illegible and the leather sweatband is heavily sweat stained.

Here’s my saltiest navy field cap. Field improvised promoted to P.O. stripe added. They used a navy cap tally to make stripe!

Nice cap Jareth.  I like the improvised stripe.
