jayhawkhenry Posted June 26, 2022 Share #1 Posted June 26, 2022 I have been a collector since 1969, and in those years I picked up a few small Japanese items, but was never very interested in it. Over the past two years, mostly because they were real good deals, I have picked up a uniform & cap. Yesterday my wife presented me with a helmet to go with the uniform. I’m a lucky guy. Fortunes Of War Posted June 26, 2022 Share #3 Posted June 26, 2022 That's a nice Type 90 Army helmet, size large. It looks like the leather liner is in good condition and the chin ties appear to be uncut...or has there been a repair to one of them?

There have not been any repairs.

Fortunes Of War Posted June 27, 2022 Share #8 Posted June 27, 2022 The number looks like "16", for Showa 16 (it's a bit faded for me to see clearly. Maybe Jareth can see it and offer an opinion). If that is the case that makes it a 1941 date. Nice condition!
