A very detailed book on the entire experience in the Sudan, from Hicks Pasha to the reconquest of the Sudan by Kitchener, goes into detail of bios of the leading personalities, a history of the region and of the native clans and tribes etc along the way, the battles, Tamaai, Gordon's defense of Khartoum, Ordurman etc are covered in great detail.
