Volkspolizei Plate

Gents,

 

I just picked up a very nice Volkspolizei commemorative plate that I thought I would show.  It was made for the 25 year anniversary of the existence of the East German Police (VP) in 1970.  It was apparently awarded for 25 years of service to the East German people.  A nice white porcelain plate without maker markings.  It seems the original owner glued on a strip of green leatherette to hang the plate on a wall.

 

First one of these I have seen, although similar white porcelain plates were made by Allach as holiday gifts for the Polizei during the war.
