Recently picked this up at a flea market. based on the markings, I believe it was produced sometime between 1936-1941?

Unfortunately, half of the handle is damaged.

Yes, the Eickhorn commercial squirrel logo alongside the newly adopted RZM numbers indicate transitional markings.  I would think made more toward the circa 1941 date.  Too bad about the damage to the hilt.

HJ Knives by Eickhorn with TM and RZM mark are transitionals and were manufactured between 1938 and 1941 without the motto.
