Nazi Water Flask or Fake

Good evening, I am looking for some help identifying this flask. I believe it is fake in a sense. I don't believe it is a Nazi flask, I think the pin/badge was put on it. However the flask appears to be original something. I cannot locate any images of it online though. I found a flask that looked similar, it was a noted as a French WW1 soldier water flask. Any help would be appreciated. My son purchased it today at a local gun show and I think we were both bamboozled.

Could you please post photos directly to the thread, one should not have to download them in order to view the item, IMO yes, you bought a stinker..
