He joined the Legion Condor in 1938 and served honorably in Poland, France, Low Countries, Russia and back to France. He was involved with the Austrian Anschluss, Sudetenland Anschluss, Poland Invasion, Battle of France, Battle of Britain, Operation Barbarossa, and subsequent flight needs end of war.
