easterneagle87 Posted October 28, 2022 Share #1 Posted October 28, 2022 Saw this photo in a local antique store and wanted to know if the UK sent nBritish or Commonwealth soldier to fight in Russia like America did at the end of WW1? There are only a couple of photos that are still attached to the black paper of those old photo albums from back then Some photos show buildings with Crylic (sp?)/Russian writing on them. Can anyone ID the badge on the front of the fur cap? I didn't buy them as I got a good look and saw they weren't US. If anyone is interested, I'd be glad to "bird dog" these for you. Kia kaha Posted October 29, 2022 Share #2 Posted October 29, 2022 I think it could be The Badge of the Royal Marines or Royal Marine Light Infantry https://bootcampmilitaryfitnessinstitute.com/2021/02/26/what-was-the-allied-intervention-in-the-russian-civil-war-1918-1925/ has an excellent article on the operations and countries involved. It could also be the cap badge of 1/9 Battalion of the Hampshire Regiment, (a cycle Battalion) who served in Russia 1919. https://www.royalhampshireregiment.org/about-the-museum/timeline/19th-battalion-russia-1919/
