SARGE Posted November 12, 2022 Share #1 Posted November 12, 2022 Gents, I thought I would show a nicely conditioned early box buckle for the East German Polizei that I picked up last week. This is a pebbled steel buckle with the German tri-color shield in the center of the style worn between 1949-1952. The buckle itself is stamped steel while the bar and prongs are made of aluminum. The shield is colored with paint.
Proud Kraut Posted November 12, 2022 Share #2 Posted November 12, 2022 Very nice example in nearly mint condition. These are very hard to find over here, thanks for sharing!
SARGE Posted November 13, 2022 Author Share #3 Posted November 13, 2022 You know, this is another good example of stopping to look through a pile of riker mounts at a militaria show. The seller actually had no idea what this particular buckle was but there it was in his grouping of buckles for sale. I picked this buckle, and a Berlin Polizei box buckle, out of the mount and bought them both for a very reasonable price. Here is another showing its age with a bit of wear and tear to the enamel paint.
